Django's Cafe Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Django's Cafe Bar is like slipping into a warmly familiar corner of Folkestone that quietly encourages you to pause and savor the moment. Nestled on Rendezvous Street, this spot hums with a gentle rhythm — the soft clink of cups, light chatter, and the occasional laughter mingling with the subtle scent of freshly brewed coffee and something savory on the grill. It’s the kind of place where time stretches just enough to make room for a relaxed conversation or a thoughtful pause over breakfast or brunch.
The atmosphere here strikes a nice balance between laid-back and lively. Whether you’re finding a seat inside among the eclectic collection of vintage knickknacks and greenery, or soaking in the sun outside on a bright day, there’s an ease that carries through every visit. It’s no surprise that the spot often fills with familiar faces alongside newcomers—people who appreciate its dog-friendly vibe, friendly service, and the simple pleasure of well-made food without fuss.
Mealtimes here gently unfold around thoughtful, comforting dishes that feel both familiar and gently adventurous. Imagine starting the day with a cappuccino or a hot chocolate that feels like a quiet indulgence, paired with scrambled eggs tended with care or a breakfast frittata rich with seasonal flavors. Later, you might find yourself leaning into the heartier side with comforting classics like lasagna or a generously stacked beef burger, all served with a touch of warmth that invites you to linger.
From fresh, vibrant salads to unexpected specials like pork gyros or Philly cheese mushrooms, the menu leans into approachable yet interesting flavors, well suited for a casual gathering or a leisurely solo brunch. The outdoor seating shines on sunnier days, offering a gentle backdrop for people-watching or a moment away from the rush. The staff’s friendly attentiveness, even on busy mornings, ensures that the easygoing spirit here stays intact.
Django’s embraces its identity as a local nook where the pace slows just enough to catch the little joys — the rich taste of a well-poured iced coffee, the comfort of familiar dishes with a twist, and the warmth of a space that feels like it quietly belongs to the community it serves.

Dog friendly cafe with delicious menu thats really reasonably priced. Have eaten here plenty of times and enjoyed every dish. Love the watermelon coolers. Very friendly staff, even when things are busy its still quite a chilled and easy atmosphere. We've had the hubcap chicken, English breakfast, burgers, lasagne, and turkey baguette and its all been delicious. Definitely recommend.

Great cafe visit today , in fantastic spot, especially for sunny days. Had the a fresh and well dressed Greek salad, lovely quality cheese and big portion. Decent tea in a proper teapot. Quirky, interesting decor. Recommend.

We’re a family of three who came on a Sunday morning for late brunch. As I mentioned to the service ladies, we loved their restaurant! The place is packed with collections of novelty/ relic and antique style of things and plants, even the black board with food of the day is a cute being. We did wait 30mins for food to arrive but the time we spent was worth while. Delicious delicates, thoughtfully displayed, worth the money, worth the photo post on Instagram, worth the like. Thank you guys!

The food is pretty good. Prefer the bean stew to the kipper. The service is a bit though. They have outdoor seating. In sunny days it is quite nice to sit outside.

Came here the morning after a wedding so felt pretty groggy and needed a full English style breakfast to make us feel human again. I ordered the frittata and my partner had the colossal breakfast. We both had a mars milkshake too. The frittata had everything a full English has in it and was a couple of inches thick too so filled me right up. My partner struggled with her breakfast too, very good value for money.

Finally managed to have a bite here after trying for ages. Luckily for us, the rain kept the numbers down from going outside on this day! Gotta say the wait was well worth it. Tasty food, decent sized portions, very customer friendly prices and polite staff in a great establishment (especially if you pop downstairs). I would describe the dishes we had but the photos should give you a clue! Most definitely going to visit again and hopefully catch it on a sunny day, at the right time.
